Space Needle in Seattle, Washington, has a new competitor to enjoy spectacular views: Seattle Great Wheel, a 175 foot tall observation wheel.
Seattle Great Wheel opened on July 29th and is located on Pier 57. When being in the wheel, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surroundings, like Seattle's skyline, Mt. Rainier, the Olympic Mountains and Elliot Bay.
The Seattle Great Wheel is a so called R-60 Giant Wheel, manufactured by the American company Chance Rides. In total 42 gondolas are available, each of which can hold up to eight passengers. The gondolas are climate controlled. There is also a VIP gondola with four leather bucket seats and, to make it exciting, a glass floor.
