Largest indoor-coaster in China

Premier Rides, the US rollercoaster company based in Baltimore, has been selected to design and manufacture the largest indoor rollercoaster, which needs to become a signature ride for the Great Mall of China.

Premier Rides is getting contract

The new rollercoaster will be designed and built in the United States and later on exported to China. For competitive reasons, additional ride specifications and costs are not yet released. The plan is to open the ride in 2013. It is already known that the rollercoaster will be using launched sections using Premier’s advanced magnetic drive technologies in combination with some unique elements.

The Great Mall of China is located in Yanjiao City, Heibei Province, only 25 km away from the Beijing International Airport. The project will contain retail shops, entertainment venues, an indoor theme park with the large rollercoaster and a water park.

The opportunity for Premier Rides is the result of Jim Seay, president of the company, who joined a state trade mission to China last year. He met several officials from mall developer Berjaya Great Mall of China Co. Ltd. during the trip across Asia, resulting in a contract for Premier Rides.
