The former Six Flags amusement park Kentucky Kingdom has been idle for two years now. The owners of Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari are showing interest to operate the park.
Holiday World is situated in Santa Claus, in the state Indiana. The park is owned by the Koch family. A small statement has been released to respond to the many rumors circling around.
“Over the years, the Koch family has explored several opportunities for growing their business. When Kentucky Kingdom’s lease was not renewed, the Kochs expressed interest in learning more about options for the park’s future.
The process is still in the fact-finding stage; no decisions have been made by the Kochs whether to further pursue this opportunity.”
There will not be a negative impact on investments in Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari. In recent years there were many novelties. Also for this year a new ride is scheduled to open: the Mammoth, promoted as the world’s longest water coaster.
Getting Kentucky Kingdom reopened is one of the primary goals of city officials and the fair board, current owner of the Kentucky Kingdom grounds.
