France is also having their giant pandas

In the French animal park ZooParc de Beauval, everything is being prepared to welcome Huan Huan and Yuan Zi, two giant pandas. They are expected on January 15, 2012

Soon giant pandas in ZooParc de Beauval

Currently both pandas are staying at the Panda Quarantine Field at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. The FedEx Panda Express will bring the panda to ZooParc de Beauval, close to Tours.

Huan Huan (female) was born on August 10, 2008. She is currently weighing 79 kilograms. Her name refers to “welcome”, which was one of the five slogan names of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Her mother is Qi Zhen and her father is Lin Lin.

Yuan Zi (male) was born on September 6, 2008. His weighth is 81 kilograms. His mother is Yuan Yuan and his father is Ping Ping. His name refers to ‘the son of the one that has a round head!’
Yuan Zi has the same father as the female panda Hua Zui Ba who is currently at Zoo Aquarium Madrid.

In Europe you can now visit giant pandas in following zoos: Edinburgh, Beauval, Madrid, Vienna and Berlin.
